the wrong death The franchise has always been characterized by the excessive use of gore, which is probably why horror movie connoisseurs consider it one of the best horror movie franchise of all time. According to the writer-director of the upcoming fifth feature, Lee Cronin, the last of the series, resurrection of the wicked dead this takes the gore to another level as it revealed that the production used a whopping 1,700 gallons of goo film gore and I’m honestly in shock.
In a recent interview with Variety the director revealed that it takes a lot of blood for the long-awaited next horror movie that production had to rent an “industrial kitchen”. The director said:
We use 6,500 litres [1,717 gallons] of blood in the film. It’s real movie blood, sticky and baked. We had to rent this industrial kitchen to cook the blood and keep it cool, so we could heat it up, because the characters are covered in it. There was a lot of liquid handling in this film. I wanted the blood to be a character, so it was important that we get the goo and that it looked good.
Cronin focused not only on the use of blood in the film, but also on delivering a high-quality production that honored the film’s legacy. evil Dead series and its creator, Sam Raimi.
Raimi started with the 1981 microbudget Died film, which spawned two direct sequels, a spin-off series, a 2013 reboot, video games, comics, and even a musical. This vast legacy would likely turn some filmmakers away from a project, but not Cronin. The director impressed the producers with his new take on the franchise. He then spoke about his involvement in the franchise saying:
I met [producer] Rob Tapert and Sam in Los Angeles and gave them the basics of the story. I had the conversation in a room with them for 15 minutes and left. My agents called me and said, “Evil Dead is yours.” And I’m like, ‘What does that mean?’ And they said, ‘You lose if you don’t do it right.’ Then you really need to double down to start writing.
And “do it right,” Cronin apparently did. Soon reactions from dead evil rises again Before SXSW He warned that he didn’t mince words. As the film prepares for a big release, early reviews of Cronin’s film were praised the movie for leave the cabin in the woods for an urban setting and the introduction of a family-focused story.
The official synopsis of resurrection of the wicked dead reveals that the film will be set in an urban setting, where a woman is tasked with protecting her grandchildren from their demon-possessed mother. This confirms director Lee Cronin’s previous statements, who hinted at a new take on the franchise by exploring new territory. While the series may be looking to break new ground, one aspect of the older films that the new film wisely preserves is the visceral use of blood. Something to delight longtime fans.
It seems that director Lee Cronin, as the guys say, got the job done. Of course, the introduction of younger characters didn’t make the filmmakers compromise on the gore factor, as they used a lot of gore on set and could, according to reviews, even ramp up the intensity. If you can’t wait for the bloody release of resurrection of the wicked deadmark your calendars for Friday, April 21, when it finally hits theaters.
