Those of us who have a Netflix subscription know that the service hosts a wide variety of content across many different genres. Although we can all easily get our fix dating shows there, or see some great horror series on the platform, something that just debuted as part of the TV show 2023 proved once again that viewers can rely on the streamer to watch exciting shows, just like with the collection of sexually explicit movies on netflix .
Obsessionwhich follows a married man having an affair with his son’s girlfriend, which just debuted a few days ago, and not just me, and probably many others since the show has been in the streamer’s Top 10, heist limited series. in one sitting, but you can bet I had a group thoughts about what happened. I guess you do too, so let’s dig deeper into what happened and what it got me!
William and Ingrid appear to be fine. How did this case come about? !
Honestly, the entire family – William, Ingrid and their two adult children, Sally and Jay – seem to have a great relationship. Also, William and Ingrid still appear to be in a romantic relationship that includes some very sexy moments, so why did he feel the need to not only cheat on, but also cheat on his son’s wife-to-be?
Do strangers really make eye contact in crowded rooms?
This sort of thing happens all the time best romantic comedies /stories with a strong B-romantic plot, more traditional or similar Obsession, where the relationship is actually incredibly destructive. I wonder though, does this actually happen to real people in real life? If so, does that happen as much as movies, books, and TV shows imply? Am I just oblivious to this because I barely leave the house, and when I do, I politely avoid looking at anyone long enough to give me and this sexy stranger a weird look? Love bond between them? Someone should do a study on this phenomenon.
WTF with that olive scene?!
Well, this is where I get confused because in the previous scenes it seemed pretty clear that no one in Jay’s family had met Anna yet, but Will meets her at this party and they introduce themselves shortly after (and they both realize it’s him). Jay’s father’s man seductively feeds Anna an olive in public. Then I thought that for most of the series they had met before, but there was not. What absolute crap?! I may not know anything about eye blockage, but I know for a fact that it doesn’t happen on a regular basis!
I’ll never understand how Anna and William recognized each other’s sexual tendencies so quickly.
Ok, so maybe it’s perfectly realistic for Will and Anna to make eye contact in a room full of people and then she allows or invites him to give her an olive, but how the hell are they instantly recognized as people • wanted to have a sexual relationship dominant/submissive? Was all that olive code for something I surely wouldn’t have googled on my work laptop for fear of seeing a bunch of stuff I’m not ready to see at 1:35 on a weekday? I know they were horny for each other at first sight, but they immediately got into kinky sex without saying a word about what they wanted! AS?!
William is clearly trying to gently dissuade his son from getting too attached to Anna.
And I don’t like it, not at all. Especially since she’s just trying to have Anna to herself.
The privacy coordinator had a LOT to do here
I mean… WOW! So many naked body parts collide in this show!
I don’t know if I’ve ever seen this kind of “dominant submissive” relationship described before
It was also a bit confusing for me. I read and watch many novels/romantic dramas , so I’m very familiar with the basics of dom-sub relationships, but I haven’t come across a love story where the submissive is responsible for making all the rules, therefore acting as a “dom-domant sub”. You live and learn, I guess!
It didn’t take long for Ingrid to realize that something was wrong.
It doesn’t look like William and Anna have been sneaking out for more than a few weeks, but Ingrid is already asking her husband whether or not they’re okay as a couple. No girl. Do not you agree!
Anyone you date who keeps as many secrets as Anna is probably not relationship material.
To Anna’s credit, she hasn’t lied to Jay much about herself. But she, to Jay’s discredit, really tries to accept her every time she tells him to “learn to appreciate the questions,” as she openly admits that she’s been keeping big secrets from him about her life. I should have run instead of proposing.
Wow. William is officially dependent on Anna
Not only did he follow her and Jay on their trip to France, but when she found out about him and convinced Jay to leave, William went to her spare bedroom to smell him and play for himself. How do I get notes for Ingrid/Jay?
Obviously it will end badly, but how?
They didn’t call it a thriller for nothing. Someone will die, but how? They Obsession END it will suck!
I’m sorry for William’s family, and for Anna too, but not for William.
I feel bad for Jay, Ingrid and Sally of course, but I also feel bad for Anna. She was sexually abused as a child and she was never able to deal with that pain, or her guilt about finally saying no to her brother, which led to his death. Girl has TONS to work for. Meanwhile, Will should be feeling incredibly guilty, but he’s not. He might not be a completely trash human, but he’s pretty close.
AND HERE’S THE BAD END
Ehhhhh nooooooooo! Poor Jay! And Ingrid… oh my God!
I think there is hope for Anna, but William is lost.
Eventually Anna is finally in therapy and has left William behind, dutifully feeling guilty and knowing that she must undo her past or find herself embroiled in an awkward situation like this again. Also, she has her good friend Peggy, who is always willing to help her, so she might end up getting by.
Will, on the other hand, has (understandably) been completely cut off from his family and is set to live in the apartment where he had his affair (which is in the building where Jay died). Add in the fact that Anna left her diary and Will is seen sitting alone in that apartment mulling over every word, and it seems like he’s never going to straighten up and put his relationship behind his back. Which makes sense, since he previously told Anna that he wouldn’t change him, even if he caused the death of her son.
I have to say I didn’t expect things to turn out the way they did, and you can’t deny that this show is worth watching if you like dark stories with twisted plots and lots of sex.
