Slight spoilers ahead for the final episode of Grey’s Anatomy.
There are full TV shows, and then there are Grey’s Anatomy. The medical drama is currently in the midst of its incredible 19th season on ABC, though it has gone through some major changes; first with the exit of Ellen Pompeo followed by Kelly McCreary as Maggie. The character in the universe who struggles the most with this pivot is Caterina Scorsone’s Amelia Shepherd, who has lost two of her sisters in quick succession. But she still has Addison, and Grey’s Anatomy fans can’t get enough of Amelia’s big scene with the private practice hero. And the fandom is showing her love of her online of her.
Although Amelia was one Grey’s Anatomy mainstay for a long time, the character actually got his start in the spin-off private practice. This show saw her in monumental low times, struggling to stay alive amidst pain and addiction. That’s what made Addison’s conversation with her in the most recent episode so powerful; They have a lot of history and love. The fans took Chirping after the episode airs, posting messages and clips like these:

Addison’s speech to Amelia was classic Shondalog. Like so many other emblematic speeches by grey history, had a recurring thesis. For Kate Walsh’s final appearance she repeats “I love you” to her former sister-in-law as she questions his sobriety, well-being and her teaching style.
Most of us relate to the struggle of trying to confront a loved one without creating a fight. And Addison telling Amelia that she loved her over and over again was a touching ploy. Grey’s Anatomy fans may end up going for it. Another fan tweeted how much he loved this particular footage, saying:

While Kate Walsh is only a guest star Grey’s Anatomy Lately, she’s been playing a pretty big role in season 19. This was especially true during Addison’s cliffhanger a few episodes ago, after she’s almost hit by a car. But in addition to her ongoing plotting about abortion services, she’s also been an emotional anchor for Bailey and Amelia.
The youngest of the McDreamy sisters has admitted to having abandonment issues, which is why the combination of her sisters leaving and the end of her relationship with Kai has been a seismic event. But fans are glad she got a much-needed reality check, especially regarding the way she was talking to fellow surgeons at Gray Sloan Memorial Hospital. As another tweeted:

Given this history, some grey Fans were nervous to see Amelia spiral into a meltdown due to her relationship and family issues. While the fight is real, the most recent episode ended with her apparently getting the help she needed from her and attending an AA meeting with Richard. How this story unfolds remains to be seen, but Amelia’s depression seems to represent fans still struggling to watch the show without their lead character. And now that Maggie is gone too, there are officially no more Grays Grey’s Anatomy. Thank goodness Ellen Pompeo keeps narrating each episode.
