Law & Order: Organized Crime Karen David Promotes High Stakes International Story, Works With Chris Meloni: ‘He’s a Legend!’

Law and order: organized crime stands for comes back after a short break and the new case brings nothing less than fear of the living dead AND leave yourself actress Karen David to play a diplomat in grave danger. That means Stabler and the rest of the team will work to get to the bottom of a high-stakes assassination attempt. The actress spoke to Gossipify about making it happen Organized crime debut, including the benefits of working with the legendary Christopher Meloni and joining the Law universe as a fan for a long time.

Karen David plays Diya Laghari, an Indian UN diplomat who has arrived in New York on a mission for her country in the new episode, titled ‘A Diplomatic Solution’. With roles in shows like fear of the living dead AND leave yourselfDavid has a lot of experience in dramatic projects but is also known for her performances in musical comedy Galavant and its party district In the when Christmas was young television movie . The actress talked about coming to Boss playing a very different type of character than he has played before:

As an actor, I am very grateful to be able to play completely different characters. It’s the dream, right? To be able to be a working actor, to be able to play different characters is so joyful. I’ve always been a huge fan of the Law & Order universe. Surely my family has. I know some of my closest friends, when they have a rough day the only thing they can count on is to get all the girls together and watch episodes of the original Law & Order or Law & Order: SVU. , so in a way it’s part of my life.

No doubt many fans can relate to the comfort of watching full episodes. Law AND SVU to chill out. While fans of Boss (currently in season 3 only) will have to wait for the new episode on April 27 to see what else is in store it seems safe to say that Diya Laghari will not be confused with GalavantIt’s Princess Elizabeth! The actress continued:

To finally be a part of the Law & Order universe, this episode’s guest star was so much fun and such a joy, and playing a very different character than I’ve played before is just a bonus. Working with Chris Meloni and all the gang, and Danielle Moné Truitt, is such a joy.

Everything points to a visit to New York that is anything but joyous for Karen David’s character, but the actress has nothing but good things to say about stepping into a TV universe she was already a fan of and work with the cast, played by Christopher. Melons. and Danielle Moné Truitt as Det. More stable and Sgt. Bell. When I pointed out to David that it’s rare to find someone with as much television experience as Chris Meloni, she replied:

OMG yes. I mean, it’s a legend! [laughs] And, of course, some of my closest friends, as well as my mother and sister, are all fans of hers. So they say, ‘Oh my God!’ They kind of live vicariously through my adventures. And Chris is, you know, what can I say? He knows this world very well and was so charming and welcoming. [when] welcoming me into the family and I couldn’t have asked for a better stage partner. I mean, she ruined me. [laughs] Him and the gang, coming in and doing this episode with them was really, really fun.

Between Law and order: CO AND SVU Chris Meloni alone boasts over 300 hours of network television, so it would be strange if he weren’t an expert on the world of Law! Though Stabler isn’t always the warmest, most forthright guy in primetime (unless you’re Olivia Benson and try to redeem yourself ), clearly not the case for the actor who welcomed Karen David as a guest star.

Karen David, of course, didn’t divulge all the details of everything to expect from the April 27 episode, but her mention of Meloni as a scenemate hints at some interesting scenes between the Indian diplomat and the police detective. . The actress teased what was at stake with Diya’s arrival in New York and the bombing:

The stakes are high in this episode because it’s an international story. I love that they’ve introduced this character to the city, and to say the least, his presence really shakes things up. The stakes are high in a way because she’s on a mission. You were told you had to make this speech on behalf of your government, and being a diplomat is very difficult. I often look for similarities between, god rest her soul, our former queen, queen elizabeth, in that you have to be quite neutral and have to think about what is best for the greater good, for your country, and for the relationship. and international relations. Diplomats may make it sound easy, but it never is.

Detective Elliot Stabler has received many nicknames in the more than 20 years since his NBC debut, but “diplomatic” probably isn’t the adjective that comes to mind for most fans! It should be interesting to see what he and Diya think of each other, as they clearly have very different roles to play in ‘A Diplomatic Solution’. Stabler doesn’t always have the greatest patience for politics; How will you deal with a diplomat?

Luckily the wait for the answer to that question and the arrival of Karen David as Diya Laghari is not very long anymore. The episode “A diplomatic solution” by Law and order: organized crime airs Thursday, April 27 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC, after Law and order: SVU at 21:00 and Law at 20:00 For a taste of what’s to come, check out the promotion:
