Chicago policeThe longest-running couple at this point are none other than Kim Burgess and Adam Ruzek, who managed to create a small family unit with a daughter in season 9 but haven’t gotten back together romantically. Ruzek wanted to buy his father’s house for Burgess and Makayla so that his little girl could have a happy place to grow up, but first season 10 did not indicate that their relationship had changed. Now, Marina Squerciati has opened up about what hurt her character’s relationship with Ruzek, and there still seems to be hope.
Marina Squerciati spoke to the press about the return of Chicago police towards something TV program 2022 including his reflections on Burgess’s place in the theme of season 10 of the “savior”. When asked what fans of her character will see in season 10, the actress shared:
Burzek has been in limbo for a while and I think Kim will make a two-way decision, starting with Episode 2, and go that route. I think we’re going to learn that the set, where she was filmed at the end of season 8, hasn’t really left her and that’s part of what hurts her relationship with Ruzek and she’ll come back a little bit more in the season. as she still haunts her. And I’d say it goes back to the first question about her breakup that she comes up with and that she’s been trying to hide for so long.
Burgess was shot and killed in the season 8 finale, and her trauma was dealt with at the start of season 9 before the Burgess-centric storylines focused more on Makayla, with the fight for custody and then the desperate search. after his kidnapping . Though it’s been a while since then PS touched on that twist (and the Season 10 premiere was more about what Showrunner Gwen Sigan called the dynamic “messy” between Upton, Halstead and Voight), will come back a little more … and damaged Burzek’s relationship.
So why is there hope in what Marina Squerciati said about her character still obsessed with what happened? The actress revealed that Burgess will “make a two-way decision” about Ruzek in Episode 2, which certainly doesn’t guarantee Burzek will be back in the credits. That means fans won’t wait months after season 10 to get answers on where they are and where Burgess wants them to be in the future.
If previous seasons have proven anything, it’s that Burgess and Ruzek are good at getting up when they’re feeling down … unless they’re fighting hard over shared trauma, like when Makayla was kidnapped. Things were said at that time. you really can’t tell , so being back on good terms at the end of season 9 was also impressive. The time jump between the season 9 finale and the season 10 premiere also only lasted two weeks, so it indicates that there have been no noticeable changes.
This is PS Taking a leap forward in time to reach the present could make all the difference, but fans can only wait and see on that front.
