Ant-Man and the Wasp: Official Quantumania Art Reveals First Look at Kang the Conqueror and New MCU Hero

It’s San Diego Comic-Con weekend and the Marvel Studios panel is almost here. Saying that fans can’t wait to see what Kevin Feige and company are. to have in store would be an understatement. While there is still some time before the big event, it looks like a nice piece of hardware has already fallen. Marvel Cinematic Universe fans got their first official look Ant-Man and the Vespa: Quantumania through a sweet work of art. Not only that, the image also reveals the first official glimpses of Kang the Conqueror and a new hero of the MCU.

Andy Park, director of visual development at Marvel Studios, released his stunning image on Instagram. The stunning render shows owners Ant-Man and Wasp alongside Cassie Lang sporting a purple dress similar to theirs. And above them, in the background, is none other than Kang the Conqueror. No, we are not talking about the One Who Remains, but Kang himself. Take a look at the image below:

Fans are looking forward to seeing more of Kang and while this is just a brief snippet of what we can expect, it definitely looks promising. Based on Andy Park’s work, it appears that he and director Peyton Reed have chosen a look that is relatively similar to the character’s distinct appearance in the comics. You’d think being all-powerful would look even more intimidating in the actual footage. I don’t know about you but can’t wait to see more!

In Ant-Man and the Vespa: Quantumaniathe conqueror will be played by the formidable Jonathan Majors, who had previously played the aforementioned variant of the villain Loki. The majors have talked about bringing Kang into part 3, and while he’s been careful not to release spoilers, it seems this being is very different from what he portrayed on the Disney + show. And that makes sense, considering that this person is much more hateful and has done horrible things throughout history than him in the Marvel comics.

On a lighter note, it’s great that both heroes have help in their fight against the mighty enemy. Cassie Lang, who fans met as a child in the original film of the 2015 franchise, is now a teenager and is played by Kathryn Newton, who was struggling to make her debut in the MCU. The character has always dreamed of dressing up alongside her superhero dad, so this is definitely a loop moment.

Cassie’s future in the cinematic universe has yet to be set in stone, but those who have read the comics will likely believe she will eventually become the hero known as Stature. Such a development would make a lot of sense, and if so, this could be your “litmus test”, so to speak. Cassie’s likely superhero status makes her another prime candidate for the Young Avengers, who may soon make a name for themselves within the MCU.

After the revelation of this poster, one wonders if Marvel Studios will actually show any footage of it. quantum, which wrapped filming last November and will arrive earlier than expected (albeit with a fee). I think there is a good chance that the pictures will be shown with Kang and Cassie. But whether it would be released for fans who aren’t lucky enough to be in Hall H is another story.

Ant-Man and the Vespa: Quantumania It will be released in theaters on February 17, 2023. While waiting for the film, watch the first two by streaming them with a Disney + subscription.
