Lawsuit filed with the “Daily Mirror”: Diana’s brother comes to the defense of Prince Harry

Charles Spencer responded on social media to a journalist who spread false information about his nephew.

Charles Spencer, Diana’s brother, defended his nephew Prince Harry during the trial against the editor of the newspaper daily mirrorwhom he accuses of having resorted to illegal processes to gather information.

On Wednesday, the 9th Earl Spencer responded on Twitter to a reporter from the daily mailAmanda Platell, who wrote: “Is Harry still obsessed with his ex-lover Chelsy Davy?”

“Harry has mentioned 118 times when he is testimony, and N’In²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²²Are Parlée. He did not come, “he added.

“That’s pathetic,” replied Charles Spencer. “You have no shame and no credibility. Last time I heard from you, you were slandering me, which is what your employer at the daily mail agreed.”

“And now they ask you (they?) to distort important legal evidence as if it were something trivial,” he added.

Charles Spencer also shared messages from Alastair Campbell, Tony Blair’s former director of communication and strategy, on his Twitter account. “If he is interested in Harry’s case, I recommend that he avoid reading the media coverage,” reads one of those tweets.

“As always when the press is attacked, this media coverage is skewed to match the misconceptions of each newspaper. It’s much better to go and get the transcripts of the hearings online.”

“On an industrial scale”

In the ongoing trial, which began last month, Harry accuses the newspaper’s editor daily mirror of using illegal methods to gather information, including voicemail hacking, between 1996 and 2010.

But if Diarios del Grupo Espejo (MGN) already apologized for its practices at the time, the prince will have to convince the judge in this trial that there was illegal information obtaining precisely in the 33 articles brought to trial.

Harry testified on Tuesday and Wednesday. This testimony from the 38-year-old prince is the first appearance by a member of the royal family on the stand since that of the future Edward VII in 1891 in a libel suit.

The youngest son of Carlos III has been involved in several legal battles against the tabloid press. He accuses her of having been responsible for the death of his mother Diana, pursued by paparazzi in Paris in 1997.

He also criticizes him for what he describes as harassment against Meghan and for having a responsibility in the bad relations he has with his family.
