A decision that provokes anger. On November 7, nine Tarn general practitioners were summoned before a “sanction commission” of the department’s CPAM for having prescribed too many days of sick leave.
As indicated by the French Federation of General Practitioners (MG 81) in a press release, a few hours before Christmas, six of these doctors were sanctioned with restrictive measures, including the prior agreement of their work stoppages.
“It’s unbearable! How is it possible that a medical advisor who hasn’t seen a patient in 30 years is more competent than me to judge whether this or that person deserves a work stoppage or not? We’re walking over our heads!” , protest to France. Bleu Occitanie, Dr. Francis Blanc, one of the six doctors sanctioned.
In a petition published on the Internet by this same union, the latter denounces “institutional mistreatment” that “logically pushes general practitioners to abandon their profession.” “The medical desert is not inevitable, it has causes and those responsible,” it is also written.
“We ask patients, concerned about the questioning of the right to sick leave and the destruction of the general practitioner profession, to sign this petition,” demands the union.
In France, it is estimated that in 2022 there will be nine million sick leave exemptions, or 30% more in ten years. For its part, article 28 of the social security financing bill now specifies that it is no longer possible to benefit from a work stoppage of more than three days in the case of teleconsultation.
