Vaccination against meningitis in infants will be mandatory from 2025, announced this Friday, April 26, the delegate minister in charge of Health and Prevention, Frédéric Valletoux.
“Please note that the obligation to vaccinate against ACWY and B serogroups in infants will come into force on January 1, 2025 following the publication of the regulatory texts,” writes the French Ministry of Public Health.
HAS an opinion
Frédéric Valletoux, specifies that this decision was in accordance with the opinion of the High Health Authority (HAS). The latter recommended in March mandatory vaccination for children under one year of age.
Currently, only vaccination against meningococcus C is mandatory for children under one year of age; Only the meningococcus B vaccine is recommended.
