The crisis in pediatrics has intensified in recent days. With the bronchiolitis epidemic affecting almost the entire country, some pediatric intensive care units are overwhelmed. To the point that several children from Ile-de-France have been transferred to other regions.
“Strong, urgent, structural and lasting political measures must be taken,” warns the Pediatrics Collective, which brings together “more than 7,000 pediatric caregivers from all over France,” in a press release.
“A delegation of 7,000 signatories from the Pediatrics Collective will come on November 2 to take their letter to the President” of the Republic, we learned this Tuesday.
“No response was given by the head of state”
“Ten days have passed since the open letter to the President of the Republic to inform him of the very critical situation of care for sick children” and “no response has been given by the Head of State,” laments the group.
In an open letter, 4,000 pediatric caregivers denounce what they describe as the saturation of public hospital services. A letter read by the head of state, BFMTV had learned of the president’s entourage.
Departure from Necker Hospital at 10 am.
According to this same source, Emmanuel Macron had asked Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne and Health Minister François Braun for an immediate emergency plan on this issue.
On BFMTV, François Braun had responded to the caretakers. But “the answers given by the press by the Minister of Health have been very insufficient in the current situation,” lamented the Collective.
“The danger that children run is innumerable and daily and its real consequences for many of them with worsening of their health status due to lack of care or insufficient care,” the caregivers write.
“Committed to defending the primary interests of children, a delegation from the group of caregivers will go to the Elysee, hoping to be able to deliver their letter to the President of the Republic,” warns the Collective.
The route of the event will be on foot “departing from the Necker-Enfants Malades Hospital at 10:00 a.m. for an expected arrival at 11:00 a.m. at the Elysée Palace.”
