“Rock dance lessons in exchange for an infernal mouth!” It is with this unusual proposal that Christophe, resident of Saint-Rabier, in Dordoña, tries to obtain an appointment with the dentist, confronted with the lack of caregivers in his home, reports here Périgord (former France Bleu) this Tuesday, March 4.
Two weeks ago, Périgourdin broke a tooth. When he looked for an appointment with the dentist around his house, he discovered that he would probably wait a long time. “It is completely the medical desert, it is very difficult to have an appointment. It is not before three or four months,” he told France Bleu.
By phone? “No one takes, even for an emergency.” About Doctolib? “There is almost no dentist who offers online appointments. There is only one in Sarlat that offers an appointment in April or can …”
“A rock dance lesson against a quick meeting”
Then Christophe, who teaches dance in the night lessons, has made an unusual call on Facebook, addressing dentists in his region: “My smile (or rather what he left) needs a transformation worthy of the largest television image change programs. Therefore, I offer a more unpublished exchange: a rock dance lesson for a quick meeting!” He wrote on February 28.
“I will offer you a rock dance lesson that will make you the star of the dance nights. Just think of all the cheers you receive on the dance floor when the frantic rock movements chain, thanks to me,” he said.
With France Bleu, Christophe admits that he is not convinced that his strategy works: “But at least it will make me smile.”
According to a senatorial information report published in 2022, 30.2% of the French population lives in a medical desert (and 62.4% of the population in île-de-France). A medical desert designates an area characterized by an insufficient care offer or difficulties in access to care.
