A study that falls in due course before the arrival of sunny days. To protect yourself from the sun’s rays and mosquito bites, at the same time you can apply sunscreen and anti-insight. But it is a good false idea, according to researchers from the National Center for Scientific Research (CNR), the Development Research Institute (IRD) and the University of Montpellier.
The mixture on the skin of these two products leads to a “decrease in protection against UV”, indicate scientists in a study published in early March in the magazine Parasites and vectors.
Additional studies are required
For “mixed” products called, presenting as carrying both protections, “the data obtained are less categorical.”
To reach these conclusions, the researchers used human skin samples (biopsies) that submitted artificial and natural UV rays after the application of sunscreen and repellent, details the CNRS site.
The software that operates with artificial intelligence “made it possible to measure the stress reaction of skin cells to radiation.”
“When sunscreen and anti -mosquitos repellent, the effectiveness of sunscreen was reduced,” said BFMTV ABDEL Aouchia, CNRS researcher.
“Additional studies are needed to strengthen and extend these first results,” the researchers said. His study is the first to “examine the effects of such a mixture,” according to the CNRS, which points to its importance at the time when the mosquito tiger propagates “in many countries.”
