Should the outbreak of measles cases in France in part its dynamic in multiple pollution during the Agricultural Fair? This is what the health authorities suggest in half a word.
Requested by BFMTV, the Ministry of Health explains that “the health authorities have been informed of situations at risk of viral dissemination by several regions regarding measles cases in people who have attended or worked at the Agricultural Fair.” As a reminder, it was held from the end of February to the beginning of March of Paris, with 607,503 visitors during this 61st edition.
These cases are identified in île-de-France, in the Auverne-Rhône-Alpes, Normandía and Occitania region. Its number is not indicated, but in a previous communication, the Ministry had remembered to notice an “increase in cases in France, in the European continent and in the world since 2023”. In the first months of the year, the cases doubled according to public health France:
“From January 1 to March 14, 2025, 180 measles were declared against 83 during the same period in 2024, a little more than double,” said the Health Agency on March 20.
The disease, which is recognizable for its eruptions, causes cough, fatigue and high fever. Mainly it presents benign forms, but spreads as a trace of dust.

While it is an extremely contagious disease, the Ministry specifies that the measures are taken to “limit the risks of dissemination”, adding that the health authorities “still follow the evolution of the situation today.” The professionals and exhibitors of SIA have also been informed of this risk and are called to consult in case the appearance of symptoms.
At least one group was born after a visit to the show, as explained to Dauphiné, Health Minister Yannick Neuder. “The pollution began through a person who attended the agricultural school of Côte-Saint-André. He would have contracted the virus during an excursion to the agricultural show. He then extended to other people in this same establishment,” he told our colleagues.
The Regional Regional Agency of the Region said Friday, March 28, after having detected several cases of measles between March 12 and 27, when it warned that it should be “particularly vigilant for all the people who had attended this fair” explained in BFMTV Anne-Sophie Ronnaux-Bron, a public health doctor and responsible for the regional monitoring of health monitoring in the regional health agency Auvergne-Rhône-Alses.
Contamination in the school and family framework, of which twelve have been confirmed biologically. Three others are training. “We had this information that the cases circulated in the agricultural show, so there was a first case, which contaminated other cases, in the case of a transmission chain in schools.”
“You should know that measles is an extremely contagious disease related to a virus and that a contaminated person can contaminate another 20 that are wrong or not vaccinated,” he said.
In Isère, a recovery campaign will be offered since March 31 to unaccoured people or not having a complete vaccination scheme.
