Six deaths “linked to Chikungunya” have been identified since the beginning of the year at the meeting, said Public Health (SPF) in his bulletin this Wednesday, April 16. SPF also reports a start of decrease in the epidemic with around 4,900 cases for the first week of April.
“Since the beginning of the year, six deaths that occurred between weeks 11 and 13 in people over 70 who have been classified as linked to Chikungunya,” says the public health agency.
Public Health France adds that “since the beginning of 2025, more than 33,000 biologically confirmed cases and 91,500 consultations for Chikungunya on the island have been identified.” And since January 1, 262 cases of Chikungunya imported from the meeting in France have been identified, according to this newsletter.
