The Government is committed on Wednesday, May 28 to make effective “before the end of the year”, the reimbursement of the reusable periodic protections for women under 26 years and the most precarious measure adopted at the end of 2023 but not yet implemented.
“There is late and this delay is not acceptable,” said the minister in charge of equality between women and men, Aurore Bergé, arrested in the National Assembly on this subject by Deputy Ps Celine Thiébault-Martinez.

“This is the reason why, with the minister responsible for health, Yannick Neuder, both will ensure that before the end of the year, this is possible, that this is reimbursed and that the commitments are maintained, because this commitment is necessary,” he added during the current problem session in the government.
The 2024 Social Security Budget, adopted at the end of 2023, provided for reimbursement of reusable menstrual protections (pants and cuts) for insurers under 26, as well as for beneficiaries of the health of complementary solidarity (C2S) without age limit.
“We are in May 2025. Nothing has moved. There is no decree, there are no specifications to define compatible products and models,” Cénline Thiébault-Martinez deplored in his arrest.
“When women will finally have access to the promised refund?” He said, emphasizing that, in France, “one in three women” has already faced “menstrual precariousness”, with a cost for society: “school absenteeism, absenteeism at work, the renunciation of girls to sports, in other words, residence.”
