The Minister of Health and Solidarity, Catherine Vautrin, promises to “prohibit exposure to screens for children, from birth to the age of three” in an interview this Sunday, June 15 at the JDD. It is appropriate that this “idea” is a paradigm shift throughout society.
This prohibition must be applied “everywhere, even at home” although the authorities “are not among people to verify it,” says Catherine Vautrin. It is a way to “breathe the idea that it does not happen,” justifies the minister who makes a parallel with “the prohibition of the buttocks.”
“The police did not register in the houses if the prohibition was applied, but the fact of proclaiming it ended up anchoring the idea that one does not write a child, even of a” whipping. “
The publication of a planned decree in the coming weeks
Therefore, the minister plans to publish “in the coming weeks, a decree that prohibits the screens in the places of reception of children under three years.”
“Professionals already have a strong sensitivity to the impact of screens on young children. They have contributed to the development of a repository on the quality of the reception that already mentions this prohibition, and this will give them an even stronger basis to advise parents,” said Catherine Vautrin.
The information will also be sent to the parents through the Family Assignment Fund and the Health Insurance Fund, with mentions in the Health Book and the Maternity Book, he said.
The health book that entered into force on January 1 stipulates “without screen before three years”, and recommends an “occasional, limited to content with educational quality and accompanied by an adult” between “three and six years.”
The Government will also direct “communication campaigns, so that no one can tell us: ‘I didn’t know'”
At the end of April, a report published by health experts requested a “collective consciousness” against the harmful effects of the screens on the youngest, in which exposure to tablets, television, computers, telephones or video games “Health capabilities and alternative intellectuals.”
In April 2024, an expert commission had given the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron a relationship with a battery of recommendations, including not exhibiting children under three years.
