The number of problems related to synthetic benzodiazepines, the molecules used as drugs and particularly marked effects, is updated, underlined on Thursday, July 10, the National Medicines Security Agency (ANSM), evoking the identification of new molecules.
“The number of addicts of addicts linked to the benzodiazepines of the synthesis continues to increase and new molecules of this class in the territory have been identified,” the ANSM summed up in a press release.
A very high overdose “risk” “
These molecules, with the structure close to conventional but modified benzodiazepines to accentuate their effects, are sold on the Internet and are used “to reduce anxiety, as a sedative or in combination with other drugs.”
However, “the power of the action of these summarized benzodiazepines means that they can cause serious health effects, even at very low doses: severe sedation (drowsiness to commas, confusion, agitation, memory alteration, balance and coordination disorders, breathing difficulties,” continues the ANSM.
“These side effects can last several days,” they insist. “The risk of overdose – overdose – potentially mortal is also very high.”
These products are theoretically prohibited. But new molecules have appeared, in fact, escaping from the regulations because they did not appear on the list of psychotropic drugs established by the ANSM.
Therefore, he saw nine new molecules that he will write on this list. Its production, sale and consumption have been explicitly banned since Thursday, July 10.
