“An infection for serious adverse adverse events (bacteriological or viral) caused by swimming in SENA during the summer surveillance period”, the Regional Health Agency of île-De-France explains to BFMTV.
According to certain publications on social networks, or in the media, from the announcement of the first dives during the Olympic Games in Paris 2024, swimming could have changed at a dangerous moment, with a risk of contracting the “Rat disease” or leptospirosis. But after an investment estimated at 1.4 billion euros, water is ultimately soft.
More than 80,000 bathers and without patients, a surprise? Not at all, according to Pierre Rabadan, sports assistant at the Paris City Council in charge of the Olympic Games and Sena.
“This is not a surprise, we have established an extremely finely fine surveillance protocol with the AR, daily surveillance, almost hour per hour (…) it was clear that we would not take any risk, as we did last year for athletes,” he rejoice with BFMTV after the communication of the Ars’s results.

Therefore, they are “almost hour per hour” controls that are carried out to guarantee water quality and avoid any pollution. With the “caution” for the slogan:
“There were days when we made the decision to close swimming, while water quality was ultimately good enough. But we started from this precautionary principle,” explains Pierre Rabadan.
“We fix them to establish these three bathrooms and silence the bad languages that constantly challenge the precautionary principles that are taken, and are very numerous,” whistles to the assistant in charge of swimming.
The fact is that the City Council admits that the site was important and that the “doubt” was reasonable. “Obviously, the public had to gain confidence in water quality,” he admits, pointing out that celebrities such as sports ministers or mayor Anne Hidalgo have made it possible to extinguish certain fears.
