Many Tiktok users are filming taking the pacifier, while they are still far from being babies. At work, in the library, at home … there are thousands of videos in the Chinese social network.
It is not a joke here, this is a real trend, especially abroad, especially in China and the United States.
According to the followers of this practice, it would help reduce anxiety, stress, quit or even sleep better. They believe it is the suction that could relax them, creating a sense of security and comfort.
But this trend would not be without risks.
Oral health risks
This practice, which could be a sign of deep discomfort, can cause oral problems. In particular, there is a risk of dental disassembly or even creating injuries in the palace. This could even cause cervical pain.
According to the French Federation of Orthodontics, cited by Huffpost, “contrary to popular belief, supposed benefits, such as appeasement, stress decrease or smoking aid is based solely on isolated testimonies and are a placebo effect, without a proven scientific basis.”
Therefore, it is advisable not to use it and resort to other solutions, in relation to a real doctor.
