China is facing an explosion of Covid-19 cases. The Beijing government has decided to largely lift the sanitary restrictions established to fight the epidemic in the country, thus ending its “covid zero” policy.
In this context, Italy has announced that it will impose mandatory tests on all travelers from China, while the United States contemplates similar measures.
In France, the Ministry of Health and Prevention is closely following the evolution of the situation in China, as BFMTV has learned. “He is willing to study all useful measures that could be implemented as a result, together with France’s European partners, and within the legal framework that exists today,” the ministry explains.
The worrying situation
The latter also specifies that since August 1 and the approval of the law that puts an end to the exceptional regimes created to fight the COVID-19 epidemic, “travellers no longer have to carry out any formalities before their arrival in France , regardless of country or area of origin”.
But the situation in China is worrisome. The hospital system is under tension while the Omicron variant -more transmissible than the previous ones- circulates massively in the population. Also, the Chinese are less immunized because they are much less vaccinated than in European countries.
