Ventura accuses Costa of immorality over a layover in Budapest

In a video released to journalists, Chega’s leader commented on The Observer’s news that the Prime Minister was making a stopover in Budapest – when traveling in an Air Force Falcon 50 – where he and Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán .

“It’s a huge political hypocrisy and a huge immorality,” Ventura criticized.

The chairman of the far-right party also believed that the situation could be “an irregularity, possibly even an illegality, but above all a huge immorality”, accusing the prime minister of “using the public apparatus for his own purposes”. .

“Equally regrettable, but what shows what political hypocrisy we are used to is using all means to get political support in Europe,” said André Ventura, noting that Costa “seems to be more concerned about the European campaign, with his next place, then with managing Portugal, with Portuguese politics”.

Chega’s leader pointed out that António Costa is critical of the Prime Minister of Hungary’s policies, but “nevertheless he is not shy about going to the Hungarian Prime Minister to finally get his support”.

The Observador newspaper reported today that António Costa made a stopover in Budapest on May 31, on his way to Moldova for the European Political Community Summit, without the event being scheduled.

Chega’s leader turned to António Costa, saying that the government “didn’t know how to prevent, didn’t know how to recover, didn’t even allow political and other consequences to be drawn from the tragedies that happened”.

And he considered that the Prime Minister is “largely responsible for what happened” and the executive “largely responsible because so much suffering still affects these families today and affects these parts of Portugal”, without specifying what he was referring to .
