Infrastructure Minister João Galamba said this Wednesday that the diploma for TAP’s privatization process will be published in the summer, pointing out that the government is waiting for the evaluation of Parpública.
João Galamba spoke at the hearing at the Committee on Economy, Public Works, Planning and Housing, in parliament, taking place this morning, where he will be heard on the ministry’s general policies and other current affairs.
“TAP is also preparing for this summer’s traffic and it is precisely this summer that the publication of the Decree-Law is expected to open the company’s IPO process, aiming for maximum competition,” he said.
The government official stressed that the executive is awaiting Parpública’s assessment of TAP for its IPO in this regard.
Galamba defended that TAP is a sustainable and viable company and guaranteed that the government will not refrain from this operation in order to secure the strategic value of the company, the preservation of the Lisbon ‘hub’ and the Portuguese identity.
