After a first handrail presented by a slap, Céline Quatennens, the wife of deputy Adrien Quatennens, went to the police station again on September 24 to report acts of harassment by text message.
In a press release that followed this revelation, the deputy’s lawyer acknowledges “a new handrail” by the wife.

A difficult divorce
A few weeks ago, Adrien Quatennens admitted to slapping his wife while the couple was going through a “difficult” divorce process. He was heard by the Lille police on Monday, while the Lille prosecutor’s office opened an investigation on September 19.
“My client was able to speak within the framework of the ongoing preliminary investigation in order to restore a certain number of truths. He contributed many elements about what he experienced and that were very illuminating for the file, ”says his lawyer. .
He adds that they are “confident that justice will be able to shed light on all the ins and outs of this procedure.”
The revelation of this case had caused a stir within the La France Insoumise movement, Jean-Luc Mélenchon had then praised “the courage and dignity” of his lieutenant while defending himself from relativizing domestic violence. The deputy was finally removed from his duties as coordinator of the political party.
