“No, I will not surrender”. Questioned this Sunday on BFM Politique, Manuel Bompard refused to bury the project of a common list of Nupes parties in the 2024 European elections. And this, despite the fact that all the LFI partners want to do it alone.
“I affirm the need to have a common Nupes list for Europeans,” insisted Manuel Bompard. “I think that’s what we need.”
“The challenge of the European elections is to emerge victorious, it is to defeat Macron’s list, that of the extreme right, and demonstrate that there is an alternative for the country around Nupes,” argued the deputy.
Ségolène Royal “is right”
Manuel Bompard salué la proposition de Ségolène Royal de prendre la tête d’une liste d’union de la gauche, sans pour autant la valider: “Ségolène Royal a pris position pour dire qu’il fallait une liste commune de la Nupes et elle Is right.”
“We said we were willing to examine this proposal as long as it received the consent of all Nupes constituents,” Bompard said.
The deputy does not lose hope. “This week the youth organizations of Nupes presented a joint project for the European elections and they all said that they were in favor of this discussion being able to take place,” he said. The LFI coordinator agreed to meet with them on Monday morning.
