European far-right parties gathered in Lisbon for a meeting promoted by ID

Several leaders of European far-right parties will be in Lisbon between today and Friday to take part in a meeting of the Identity and Democracy (ID) political family, including France’s Marine Le Pen.

According to information released by the Chega party, a dinner is planned for this Thursday with the party president, André Ventura, the leader of the National Union and deputy of the French National Assembly Thibaut François, and the MEPs Susanna Ceccardi (elected by the Italian party Liga) and Maximilian Krah (alternative for Germany).

The public meeting will take place on Friday at Convento do Beato, in Lisbon, with the presence and intervention of Marine Le Pen, the Belgian MEP Gerolf Annemans, elected by the far-right Flemish party Vlaams Belang, Martin Helme, leader of the Estonian right-wing nationalist party EKRE, from the Czech Tomio Okamura, from Freedom and Direct Democracy, from Tino Chrupalla, from Alternative for Germany, and also from the Austrian MEP Harald Vilimsky.

Party chairman André Ventura and deputy Rita Matias will be present for Chega.

According to a publication by ID on the social network

Beforehand, Chega’s leader will meet with the leader of the French far right, Marine Le Pen, on Friday morning, with a joint press conference planned at the Assembly of the Republic.

André Ventura told journalists on Wednesday that this press conference “will deal with several issues, but mainly European issues.”
