A package of rice or pasta, sanitary napkins or diapers… To lower the food budget of the French, the acting president of the RN Jordan Bardella proposes removing VAT from these products. Invited to the set of BFM Politique on Sunday, the MEP reaffirmed this emblematic measure of Marine Le Pen’s program, as part of her candidacy for the presidential elections in April 2022.
“We ask that there be a basket of 100 essential items, when you go shopping, that are completely exempt from VAT,” he said on the set of BFMTV.
This basket includes in particular “rice, pasta, hygiene products for women, diapers for babies,” explained the elected official.
The MEP, candidate for the presidency of the RN, also mentioned another proposal from his party aimed at minimizing the effects of inflation. “We are proposing a 10% increase in all salaries,” he said. In return, “these 10% increase are exempt from employer contributions for five years,” he continued.
