The chairman of the PSD said in Brussels on Thursday that the prime minister is trying to rehabilitate his political image for a specific purpose, but that he has “failed as prime minister”.
“I have seen a great attempt by António Costa to rehabilitate his image. I do not know exactly for what political purpose, but I want to say again: António Costa has failed as prime minister,” Luís Montenegro insisted at the press conference. access to a meeting of the European People’s Party (PPE), a political group to which the PSD belongs, in Brussels.
The Social Democratic president argued that António Costa “did not resign because of one paragraph”.
