In the streets of Paris, last Friday, many shop windows were illuminated at night despite the fact that the law prohibits it between one and six in the morning. Even more surprising, in the district of La Défense, in Puteaux, the Torre Séquoia, which houses the Ministry of Ecological Transition and the Ministry of Energy Transition, is lit.
“We see columns of light all lined up one on top of the other, so we can still doubt that there is a person in each of the offices that have remained lit,” Anne-Marie Ducroux, president of the National Association, tells BFMTV. Protection of the Sky and the Night Environment (ANPCEN).
“I guess people aren’t lined up in offices that exactly,” he concludes.
Work scheduled for October
Contacted by BFMTV, the Ministry of Ecological Transition responded in a press release that “the Sequoia Tower is unfortunately well known for its technical installation that makes it difficult to control lighting or heating.”
“It is the subject of a particular follow-up. Therefore, a meeting is planned again this Monday between the cabinets of the two ministers,” it is also specified.
According to our information, it is planned to review the lighting settings and the work will be completed in October. “The State must be exemplary in the hunt for energy waste. This implies a profound change in our habits and behaviors but also the installation of new equipment”, also writes the Ministry of Ecological Transition.
