LIVE – Speeches by Le Pen, Borne… Follow the motions of censure in the Assembly live

Elisabeth Borne faces this afternoon the motions of censure from the Nupes and the RN on the 2023 budget and that of the Secu. The debates in the hemicycle should be electric even if they have no chance of being adopted. This is the first time that a government faces three motions of censure in a single day.

Three motions of censure in one day: a first in political history

Two motions of censure against the budget will be examined starting at 4:00 p.m., presented by the Nupes and the RN.

Starting at 9:30 p.m., a third motion of censure on the Social Security budget will be scheduled, defended only by the left-wing union.

It is the first time that a government faces three motions of censure on the same day.

If these motions have almost no chance of success, they are nevertheless the sign of a very stormy atmosphere in the National Assembly and great difficulties for the government, in the absence of an absolute majority.

3 motions of censure to the program of the National Assembly

The National Assembly will first hear Cyrielle Chatelain, president of the environmental group, speak to introduce the Nupes motion at 4 p.m.

Marine Le Pen will then take the floor to present the RN’s motion of censure.

Elisabeth Borne will then go up to the podium to defend her government, before the deputies go to the vote.

Starting at 9:30 p.m., the deputies will study a third motion of censure, presented by Nupes against the Social Security budget.

We summarize everything here.
