PSD chairman Luís Montenegro on Friday defended an investigation into all Russian investments in Portugal “to the last fall”, with the necessary consequences.
“I don’t have any specific information on this, but I think all these surgeries need to be explored to the fullest and of course have consequences.”responded.
Luís Montenegro responded to journalists on the sidelines of the opening of the 30th Chestnut Festival in Sernancelhe, Viseu district, about evidence of money laundering in Portugal by Russian citizens escaping European Union (EU) sanctions.
“The sanctions mechanism adopted by the EU against Russia is a fundamental tool to pressure the Russian Federation to find a solution to this absurd conflict, this despicable conflict of the invasion of Ukraine with all the horror that spills over the territory has been distributed.”considered.
In this sense, the PSD leader defended that: “all that EU states can do to implement these sanctions and prevent such abuse is little”.
Luís Montenegro defended too little if you take it into account “the attack on the most basic values of human dignity and democracy that Russia is operating on Ukrainian territory”.
CNN Portugal reported this Friday that “a lot of evidence of a very deep commitment, a lot of money is involved” in “Russian luxury investments in Portugal”.
