“I’m like Jean, I make the move.” Sunglasses on his nose, confident walk, gas can in hand, Jean Lassalle makes his appearance in a rap clip. The music, which bears his name, stems from a collaboration between the actor from more beautiful life Théo Bertrand and rapper KAIKOH.
The story of the clip: Five friends whose car has broken down find themselves stuck in Béarn five hours before a wedding. Jean Lassalle gives them a hand with a can of gasoline and then invites them to his house for an aperitif.
“Good Old Jean Lassalle”
The shepherd of Lourdios-Ichère uncorks bottles of wine, takes out pâté, slices baguettes, toasts and performs wild dance steps. In less than a week, the clip has racked up more than 280,000 views on YouTube.
And this is not the first time that the former presidential candidate has inspired artists. In 2017, Vanderkraft released a song called “Ce bon vieux Jean Lassalle” with excerpts from Béarnese speeches.
Deputy for the Pyrénées-Atlantiques for four consecutive terms, Jean Lassalle had given up running for the last legislative elections due to open-heart surgery. Candidate in his place, his brother Julien had not made it to the second round.
