Bayrou, target of a motion of censure presented by rebels, communists and environmentalists
As they had previously announced, the rebels presented a motion of censure following François Bayrou’s general policy statement, criticizing a “denial of democracy” in the latter’s appointment. Green and communist deputies also signed the provision.
What does the PS say about the pension reform?
At the moment “the account is not there” among the socialists. The latter sought to repeal, then suspend the pension reform and finally achieved a “reconstruction” of this widely questioned law.
That is, a three-month renegotiation “conclave” between the partners “without any taboo” regarding leaving at 64 years of age. In the absence of an agreement, the current reform will continue to apply, indicated the Prime Minister.
This point offends socialists. “What I ask the Prime Minister” is “to say that, whether there is agreement or not, Parliament will deal with the issue of pensions based on the proposals that will have been made by each other.” explained Olivier Faure, first secretary of the PS, before threatening: “we will censor, unless we have a clear answer” on this issue.
