The rebel deputy Adrien Quatennens reacted this Saturday on Twitter to the collapse of two buildings in Lille in the morning, his first speech since retiring from his role as LFI coordinator.
“I address a thought of solidarity to the inhabitants of Lille affected”, writes the deputy from the North, expressing his “relief” at the absence of a victim.
“I salute the response capacity of the person who gave the alert, and the professionalism of the municipal and emergency services,” he also salutes.
Pointed to by a railing brought by his wife, the left-wing elect, who admitted to having slapped him, retired from his duties as coordinator of his party in mid-September. He has not sat in the National Assembly since.
Mélenchon called for his “return”
The case generated controversy and division even within LFI. Jean-Luc Mélenchon and the deputy Manuel Bompard have aroused the anger in particular of feminist circles for positions accused of relativizing gender violence, which both have defended.
The leader of the Insoumis had remarkably confided his “affection” for the deputy from the North. “I think he has to go back (to the Assembly),” he called on October 9.
“I am not here for perpetuity in life,” the deputy Alexis Corbière had declared on BFMTV. “Why wouldn’t Adrien Quatennens come back if there was a penalty?” He had launched.
End of your sick leave
Is Adrien Quatennens preparing a return to the political scene? His sick leave ended last Monday, but the deputy has not yet reappeared in the chamber.
“There is a reflection of committed” on a possible return, however, acknowledged on Thursday the deputy Alexis Corbière in the Public Senate, without giving a precise date.
According to information from France Info, the return of Adrien Quatennens is scheduled “at the end of the month”. Meanwhile, the deputy continued to vote remotely on the texts debated in the chamber.
