BFMTV-RMC guest this Tuesday, Manuel Bompard criticized the insults profaned by Cyril Hanouna towards Louis Boyard on the program don’t touch my post last Thursday. It is “unacceptable that an elected representative of the Republic, whatever his political label, be insulted on a television,” denounced the rebel deputy from Bouches-du-Rhône.
The star presenter of C8 had notably described Louis Boyard as a “cocker”, “jester” or even “jerk”. The latter had previously accused the “five richest people” in France of “impoverishing Africa”, citing Vincent Bolloré, owner of the Canal + group, himself the owner of C8.
“We have the right to criticize the head of the chain”
“When you go to a television channel you have the right to say what you want. You have the right to criticize the head of the channel, you have the right to say that his activities in Africa are not acceptable ”, insisted Manuel Bompard. on BFMTV-RMC.
Louis Boyard had referred in particular to a complaint filed by 145 Cameroonians against the Bolloré group for its links to the Société camerounaise de palmeraies. They accuse the latter of disrespect for human rights and environmental degradation. At first instance, the Nanterre court ruled in favor of the Bolloré group.
“That’s not the point”
Manuel Bompard also returned to the defense of Cyril Hanouna. Which was strikingly reminiscent of Louis Boyard who had worked for don’t touch my post before becoming a deputy. “As if the fact that he was paid […] then you must prevent him from criticizing the head of this channel”, replied Manuel Bompard
Still, the case raises a question mark: should the rebels still go to the host’s set? Various personalities from the party such as Raquel Garrido or Alexis Corbière have made several appearances on his program. don’t touch my post.
“That is not the issue,” said Manuel Bompard. According to him, the question is more about the rules that apply to strings. These “must be applied”, defends the rebel. “It can’t be: ‘if you don’t follow the rules, you’re not going (to the TPMP set).”
Following the incident between Louis Boyard and Cyril Hanouna, LFI seized Arcom, the audiovisual police officer. For his part, Louis Boyard announced Monday that he will file a complaint for “public insult against a person in charge of a public service mission.” In response, the driver indicated that he would soon file a defamation lawsuit.
