“600 days of unbearable test”: Emmanuel Macron’s message with hostages always retained in Gaza

The head of state affirms that France “is next to” Israeli hostages still retained by Hamas in the Palestinian enclave.

The French president, Emmanuel Macron, denounced on Wednesday “600 days of terrible unbearable experience” for Israeli hostages still retained by the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas in Gaza.

“600 days of unbearable test for them and their loved ones. 600 days, not one without thinking of them,” he wrote on the social network X.

“France is by his side, mobilized, determined,” he continued. “For its launch, for a high immediate fire, for everyone’s peace and security. This is our priority.”

The war caused by Hamas entered on its 600s without hope of the Israeli bombing in Gaza or the release of the hostages arrested since the attack on the Islamist movement on October 7, 2023.

Netanyahu promises to bring all the hostages back

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who announced on Wednesday the death of the alleged head of Hamas, promised Monday to bring all the hostages on Monday, “The Living and the Dead”, retained by Hamas in Gaza, at a time when his army intensely bombard the Palestinian territory, killing at least 52 deaths.

“If we do not get there today, we will get there tomorrow and, if not tomorrow, we do not give up (…) we intend to bring them all, the living and the dead,” said Benjamin Netanyahu in a speech closing the festivities of the “Jerusalem Day.”

“Our mission (to win the war), including to bring the hostages back, accompanies us day and night (…) we do not give up,” he added.

On May 17, Israel intensified its offensive to free the last hostages, take control of all Gaza and Destroy Hamas, which took power in 2007 in the Palestinian territory.
