Israel-Iran: France judges “unacceptable” the strike of the Hebrew State to Evin prison

Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot denounced the Israeli strike that attacked this Monday, June 23, the Evin prison in Iran, where the French Cécile Kohler and Jacques Paris stopped for three years.

Israel announced Monday, June 23 on Monday, June 23, “unprecedented” force attacks on Tehran, and in particular in the infamous Evin prison. In a message about X, Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot considered “unacceptable” the Israeli strike in this prison where the French Cécile Kohler and Jacques Paris stops.

“The strike attacked to Evin’s prison, in Tehran, endangered our nationals, Cécile Kohler and Jacques Paris, hostages for 3 years. It is unacceptable,” he denounced.

“I asked for their news and immediate release from my Iranian counterpart. Cécile and Jacques would not have been affected by the damage caused on the spot,” said the Chief of French diplomacy, “demanding consular access as soon as possible.”

This strike “endangers our loved ones”

The use of conditional by the minister is considered “very worrying” by Cécile Kohler’s lawyer.

“This reveals that today’s French authorities have no guarantee of giving us the physical integrity of two nationals under their protection,” said Chirinne Ardakani in the BFMTV set.

For his part, Emmanuel Macron assured Oslo since Iranian Foreign Minister had assured Jean-Noël Barot that “our hostages had not been affected.”

This strike in the Evin prison “has nothing to do with the officially exhibited objectives, does not reduce the Iranian nuclear program, and has in danger the lives of Iranian and foreigners civilians,” the French president in Norway abounded to discuss the defense, on the eve of an NATO summit.

This strike “puts our loved ones in danger of death,” said Noémie Kohler, Cécile Kohler’s sister. Iranian justice has reported damage to certain parts of the Evine prison, where Westerners, political prisoners and opponents are arrested.

Cécile Kohler, professor of 40 -year -old letters, and Jacques Paris, his septuagenarian partner, had been arrested on the last day of a tourist trip to Iran on May 7, 2022.

Although the United States has led strikes in Iranian nuclear sites this Sunday, Jean-Noël Barrot repeated on the 11th war between Israel and Iran that “all strikes” should “now stop giving way to negotiation and diplomacy.”

In Iran, the war left more than 400 dead and 3,056 injured, mostly civilians, according to an official evaluation. Iranian shots in Israel left 24 people dead, according to the authorities.

Affirming that Iran was about to have the atomic bomb, Israel attacked it on June 13, bombing hundreds of military and nuclear sites and killing the largest officers in the country, as well as nuclear scientists. Iran, who represents Israel with missile and drone fire, denies wanting to make the atomic weapon but defends his right to a civil nuclear program.
