Municipal 2026: The Renaissance party launches its “Academy” to train its candidates

Renaissance was launched this Friday, June 27, the “Academy of Municipalities” on Friday, June 27 to train its future candidates in the March 2026 elections.

“The biggest school in a political party.” The Presidential Party of the Renaissance was launched this Friday, June 27, the “Municipal Academy”, imagined training its future candidates in the March 2026 elections on Friday, June 27. He will share “a common vision” with a “registration of good practices.”

Objective: Avoid new profiles. The party led by Gabriel Attal has already identified 2,000 personalities “capable of registering in the municipal lists,” said Franck Riester, general secretary of the Secretary General in charge of the elections during a press point.

“It is a strategic choice to prepare and train them. It is respecting voters. Winning a campaign is not just having the correct slogan,” said Agnès Pannier-Runacher, Minister of Ecology and Delegate Secretary in charge of the training.

“Media and an ambition”

The opening of this academy responds to a request for activists “with a method, means and an ambition,” said Agnès Pannier-Runacher. Until December, 23 sessions will be organized, while the party has already formed 800 activists.

For municipal elections, the Renaissance has already chosen 241 “pilots” in charge of local projects and local discussions with other political parties. Renaissance bosses will be designated “as political relevance progresses,” Franck Riester said.

“You need time to discuss and find the right project. It is not just being chosen and taking places. You have to change the situation locally,” Franck Riester said.

Who in Paris?

If the party ensures that “it will not focus only on Paris, Lyon and Marseille,” these three cities remain a problem. In Lyon and Marseille, Thomas Rudigoz, former deputy of Rhône and Renaud Muselier, president of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, are designated as “pilots.”

In Paris, the potential designation for the rebirth of the Minister of Culture and the mayor of the 7th Arcondisement Rachida Dati is very late. “Gabriel Attal asked me to carry out a mission at the end of summer to retain the best strategy,” Franck Riester said.

“It will not be at any cost. Not at the expense of our ideas, our values, which we use local for Paris,” he said. “Will there be a strong commitment to the fight against discrimination? This is very important for us,” says Franck Riester.
