The next municipal elections will take place everywhere in France in March 2026. In Lille, this vote marks a turning point: that of Martine Aubry’s succession. After 24 years at the head of the city, the socialist decided not to imagine and resign. Presented as his natural heir, Arnaud Desidlands, elected to the mayor of the Municipal Council will try to maintain his headquarters in the City Council. However, he will have to go through the main box to be an officially inverted candidate, deputy of the 11th district Roger Vicot also requested. Among the other forces involved, the deputy of Violette Spillet is already in the campaign. The environmentalist Stéphane Boly, who spent very close to overcoming Martine Aubry in 2020, is also a candidate. On the right, LR Louis Delemer also threw himself in the race for the bell tower.
