The Ministry of National Education said on Wednesday, July 2, has taken note of the Betharram report. This parliamentary report on violence in schools was published on Wednesday.
This report offers 50 recommendations to combat violence against students. “At the end of the in -depth analysis that will be carried out by the ministerial teams, the Minister of State will examine whether it is necessary to adapt the ‘Brisons silence, we act together’, launched last March,” said the ministry.
1,000 checks at the end of the calendar year
The Ministry recalls that thanks to this plan to combat violence in schools: “The collection and processing of violence reports in private establishments under contract are now mandatory (Decree of June 16, 2025)”.
He adds that “more than 500 inspections were carried out in the 2024-2025 school year with a strong acceleration since March, the objective is to reach 1000 controls for the end of the calendar year.” Inspections involving the recruitment of “60 academic inspectors (…) for the beginning of 2025 and 2026” back to school.
This plan also establishes that “for a better collection of students’ discourse, questionnaires, until now experienced in internships and during school trips, will be extended to all establishments at the beginning of next school year,” concludes the Ministry of National Education.

In addition to these recommendations, this report criticizes the Prime Minister, François Bayrou, a “lack of action” at that time, which could leave the violence “continue”. Prime Minister’s entourage denies these conclusions.
