The dates of the Marine Le Pen and RN appeal trial in the case of European parliamentary attendees will be established on September 8 during a hearing dedicated to the organization of this second trial, said on Friday, July 11, the General Office of the Prosecutor of the Court of Appeals of Paris.
The condemnation, on March 31, of the archive of the extreme right to an inelegability of five years with immediate execution had caused a political earthquake. The Court of Appeal had quickly announced that it would adapt its calendar to make a decision in the summer of 2026, long before the 2027 presidential elections.
Marine Le Pen had also been sentenced to four years in prison, including two firms under electronic bracelets and 100,000 euros fine, the court believed that he had been in the “heart” of a system of embezzlement of public funds established to pay the party employees with the money of the European Parliament, between 2004 and 2016, for a total amount of 4.4 million euros.
In total, 24 people (former Eurodiputadas, former assistants, public accountant) had been convicted, but only twelve of them appealed and, therefore, will be reorganized, in addition to the part. Therefore, the second trial will be shorter than the first, which had lasted two months.

On Wednesday, the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) rejected the emergency application submitted the previous day by Marine Le Pen to suspend its immediate inelegability, considering that “the existence of an imminent risk of an irreparable participation in a protected law (…) is not established”, without pronouncing at the bottom of the file that will lead to a subsequent exam.
The same day, searches, particularly at the Parisian headquarters of the party, were carried out as part of a new survey for illegal electoral campaigns in 2022 and 2024.
This judicial information was opened in July 2024: it is mainly related to the loans of individuals for the Marine Le Pen party to finance its 2022 presidential campaign and the legislative elections that followed, as well as the Europeans of 2024.
In addition, on Tuesday, the European prosecutor’s office announced that he had opened an investigation into the political family to which the national demonstration belonged to the European Parliament before 2024, for various financial irregularities.
It is suspected that former identity and democracy, in which the MEPs were sitting in the national demonstration, are suspected that has “unduly” spent more than 4.3 million euros between 2019 and 2024.
