Cannes Mayor David Lisnard asks for the right to agree “Ten measures” to take the race in Elysée for “a radical change”, convinced that the next president of the Republic will be “Punk”, in an interview with AFP.
The supporter of the primary open to the right to designate a unique presidential candidate, a proposal that has not yet found success with the presidents such as Edouard Philippe or Bruno Retailleau, the president of the Association of Mayors of France (AMF) outlines “another method” to unite the right.
“In a fairly large spectrum from the center-right to a hard right, we could agree on ten measures to straighten the country,” explains David Lisnard, who also feeds Elysian’s ambitions.
Among these measures, he quotes as an example of capitalization retirement, “the abolition of the principle of caution of the Constitution and its replacement for a principle of responsibility” or even a referendum on immigration “to propose to leave the vice of the European jurisprudence and the hautas-councils.”
“Everything is that once in power, there really is a fast decision power. It will be necessary to go fast,” says the mayor of Cannes, inserted with LR, but who has his own new energy party.
“A radical change”
In his eyes, this “method” does not necessarily pass “by the designation of a candidate at the end of an open primary. It evokes the possibility of” a team agreement around a leader “capable of bringing the colors of the right to the presidential elections.
“If we have the ten measures, in this case, we agree and see in the end how we decide,” he says. “But I think it will be difficult to prevent people from choosing that we are talking to him.”
Marking the risk of a second round whose right would be fired and that would oppose Jordan Bardella to LFI Jean-Luc Mélenchon, gives his preference to the open primaries he wishes to see organized “around May 2026, following the municipal municipal municipal elections.
“It is necessary zero ambiguity in the content of the measures,” says David Lisnard, a murderer of the “at the same time” by Emmanuel Macron whom he presents as a “failure.”
“The next president will be Punk!”, He predicted, convinced that the next head of state will have to break with macronism. “A radical change will be needed,” he said, asking “to stop the arrangements of notables.”
