The abolition of two vacations, proposed by François Bayrou to reduce the public deficit, is “a very bad signal of the government,” Maconista deputy Violette Spillet said, even judging the measure “contrary to (its) values.
“I do not defend a measure of suppression of holidays, I am against this vacation elimination. It is extremely clear because it is contrary to my values,” said the chosen northern Europe 1.
“A very bad sign”
The prime minister invited the unions and employers to initiate a negotiation since the beginning of the school year aimed at withdrawing the “two -day vacation”, which could be Easter Monday and May 8, to abound the state budget of more than 4 billion euros next year.
“We need to bring money to the funds, but that means we have to put more people in employment again,” Violette Spillette objected, for whom “is not in workers that the national effort must be heavy.”
“This vacation is a very bad signal from the government, because it is like a mark of distrust of those who pay more today. It is true that it stir,” he added.
A new unemployment insurance reform
To save money, the group member for the Republic defended, as its leader Gabriel Attal, a new unemployment insurance reform “that makes access to compensation even more restrictive and accompanies even more strongly (…) on the return to employment.”
On this subject, the former socialist now near Gérald Darmanin is in the same line as Mr. Bayrou, who asked social partners for another negotiation with an objective of 2 to 2.5 billion euros in savings of 2026.
Violette Splebout also begged “an additional effort” and “temporary” of “those who do not work”, in this case the retirees whose “some who are very easy are ready to make the effort (and) say it themselves.”
