Opposition decree, the budget plan for the year 2026 presented by Prime Minister François Bayrou last July, has not finished talking about it. For several days, calls to “block” the country on September 10 have multiplied in the networks and have gathered several associations and unions backed by the left parts.
This mobilization, which is growing, also has the support of almost 2 out of 3 French, according to a survey by the interactive company Toluna – Harris in charge of RTL. Of the 1,214 people questioned, 63 % declare “join the movement”, when 26 % oppose and 11 % are indifferent.
When aiming 43.8 billion euros in the savings in 2026, François Bayrou had caused a uproar in the announcement of certain measures, even in project, in particular the abolition of two vacations, the non -renewal of 3,000 positions in the public service or the limit of social benefits.
58 % of the French favorable to block the country
If thanks to this plan, François Bayrou hopes to straighten the national economy, 70% of the French interviewees are favorable “to the fact that there are demonstrations to protest against the government budget.”
These figures still deserve a nuance. When it comes to “blocking the country” on September 10, 58 % of the French say they are favorable (against 35 % completely favorable and 23 % quite favorable).
In detail, the people who are more favorable to block the support mainly the Ecology Party of Europe, the Greens (80%), then the supporters of France Rebelde (79%) and finally those of the National Rally (77%). As expected, the French surveyed near the Renaissance party do not support the movement, 69 %.
This Thursday, the coordinator of the France Insumise Manuel Bompard, put the issue on the table, announcing to present a motion of censure “from the first day” of the beginning of the parliamentarian, scheduled for the moment on September 22.
The same intention among the Socialists, as revealed a few days ago, Deputy Arthur Delaport to Parisino. The fall of the prime minister is “just a matter of weeks,” according to him.
For their part, 68 % of the French interviewees say they are for “censorship in the National Assembly.”
