“Avoid adding confusion”: The Renaissance does not invest a candidate for the partial legislature in Paris against Michel Barnier

“After the candidacy of former Prime Minister Michel Barnier,” the Renaissance party announced this Friday that it will not invest in the partial legislative in the 2nd District of Paris.

The Renaissance party will not invest in a partial legislative candidate in the 2nd District of Paris, the Macronista party announced this Friday, August 29, wanting to “avoid adding confusion in an unprecedented national political situation.”

“After the candidacy of former Prime Minister Michel Barnier, the National Inauguration Commission decided not to invest in a candidate,” wrote vice president Out in the Sutural Party, Jean Laussucq, whose election had been invalidated by the Constitutional Council on July 11 for irregularities in his campaign accounts.

Thierry Mariani, candidate for the national meeting

This decision occurs after the agreement found on the right, the Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati, withdrawing his candidacy for this for selection while officially investing as a candidate of the Republicans in the City of Paris.

Michel Barnier, former Prime Minister of Emmanuel Macron, overthrown by a motion of censure in the National Assembly in December 2024, therefore, became the only right -wing candidate at the attached headquarters in this district to Horcajadas on arrangements 5, 6 and 7.

In addition to Michel Barnier and in the absence of a Renaissance candidate, two other personalities are on the date to try to win this partial legislative: the RN Thierry Mariani and the socialist Frédérique Bredin, invested by the PS and supported by the environmentalists.

The vote is scheduled for September 21 and 28, but the left candidate wrote on August 18 to Prime Minister François Bayrou to ask for a postponement of the elections in early October, especially evoking too tight deadlines.

Insoumise France also announced Friday in a press release that I would not present in this candidacy district, “as planned by the PFN (New Popular Front) Agreement of 2024”. In July 2024, the party supported the marine candidate of PSSset.
