There are many contestants for the municipality of Grenoble. The mayor, Éric Piolle (EELV), does not represent himself. On the right, candidates are already well launched in the campaign. To the left part of the political spectrum, negotiations are still in progress.
The social democrats of “Grenoble Capital Citizen”, led by Romain Gentil, launched their campaign on September 5, 2025. They are allied with the public place of Raphaël Glucksmann, the left radical party and the ecologists of the equinox.
As for environmentalists, municipal councilors Lucille Lheureux and Margot Belair, Scop President Alma Laurence Ruffin and communist Nicolás Berón-Perez, would be ready to request information from here. But it will be necessary to wait for the vote organized on September 21 by the campaign director to find out who of these four volunteers will be chosen. For this internal election, all the activists of the environmentalists, generation, of the Animalist Party, but also of the associations and the collective committed, will be invited to participate.
The rebels, on the other hand, have not yet announced a candidacy. Within the movement, the question of sending a candidate or joining environmentalists must be decided shortly.
Campaigns launched to the right
On the right, the campaigns are already well launched. The Édouard Philippe party, Horizons, has invested the lawyer Hervé Gerbi. The latter was chosen to embody a centrist policy that rejects “the extremes.” Traditional law will be represented by Alain Carignon. Although the latter was not invested by the Republicans.
To represent the national demonstration, it is Valentin Gabriac, assistant of the RN in Isère and the parliamentary aggregate of deputy RN Thierry Pérez is responsible for building a list.
