The Bloco de Esquerda saw this Monday, after changing the vote of the PS, approve a proposal for the implementation of the National Ecological Public Procurement Strategy, which provides for its follow-up and monitoring.
The blockist proposal was approved by the Budget and Finance Committee (COF), in parliament, in the context of the votes on the state budget for 2023, following the vote change of the PS, at the end of the day.
The Left Block measure was the only one approved by the party in polls on Monday and aims to implement the National Ecological Public Procurement Strategy.
It provides for this “the training of officials responsible for the implementation of the Strategy, as well as its dissemination” and the “follow-up and monitoring” of the respective implementation.
The measure also includes “the assessment of the degree of inclusion of environmental criteria in public procurement”🇧🇷 “creating monitoring systems for compliance with the corresponding contractual clauses for all entities that used environmental criteria in procurement procedures”as well as the application of criteria and the dissemination of information for assessing the effects of the strategy.
The blockers justify the measure with “the problems for non-application of the National Ecological Public Procurement Strategy have been identified”what they claim to be “necessary to correct and supplement them so that a fundamental law of environmental sustainability can finally make this contribution to society”🇧🇷
