Faced with “anti -Semitism and its new forms,” Emmanuel Macron calls Rage. In a statement published on social networks, the President of the Republic said that he had asked Gérald Darmanin “to instruct prosecutors to improve the response of justice” against these acts, this Saturday, September 20.
“I know the concern of the Jewish French,” he said, evoking “anxiety, loneliness, fear” and indicating that he has received requests for better “justice and protection.”
For the Head of State, “two vigilant words: absolute surveillance and immediate response, to identify and punish the authors of anti -Semitic acts,” he promises. This request, with Gérald Darmanin, coincides with the calls of the Minister of Justice resigned, who in a circular, asked prosecutors “a very firm criminal response.”
Gérald Darmanin also asks prosecutors to open “systematic surveys” when they take over an elected official or official of an anti -Semitic position or position, under article 40 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
