STRAIGHT. Robbery at the Louvre: Rachida Dati tells deputies that the security devices “worked”

The ministers will be expected during the deputies’ turn for the second session of current questions to the government of Sébastien Lecornu. Marine Le Pen and Boris Vallaud will question the prime minister about the suspension of pension reform. As for Rachida Dati, she will have to explain the Louvre robbery.
  • Sébastien Lecornu and his government face their second current affairs session since last week’s general policy statement.
  • The Prime Minister will have to clarify how he plans to suspend the pension reform. The announcement of the measure allowed him to obtain the good will of the socialists. “The prospects of a referendum” are possible, said Emmanuel Macron this morning. Read the article
  • Former president Nicolas Sarkozy, 70, was imprisoned this morning in the Santé prison in Paris. This is the first time in the entire history of the Republic. Emmanuel Macron considered this morning that the question of the provisional execution of sentences imposed on political figures was “a legitimate debate.” Read the article

“He confirmed to me that it was indeed a suspension”: Boris Vallaud judges that Sébastien Lecornu responded to “his request” regarding pensions

Sébastien Lecornu announced that he will convene a Council of Ministers on Thursday to add to the social security budget the suspension of the pension reform in case of recourse to orders.

Enough to satisfy the president of the PS deputies, Boris Vallaud, who considers that the Prime Minister responded to “his request” for a letter of rectification, the name by which this procedure is designated.

“It confirmed to me” that the suspension of the pension reform would be “complete,” greeted the head of the socialist deputies to the National Assembly before the BFMTV microphone.

Emmanuel Macron explained this morning that it was not a suspension but a “change”.

“Where is the commitment you promised?”: François Ruffin accuses Sébastien Lecornu of “not breaking up”

“We don’t have any rupture here. Where is the compromise that you promised?” asks deputy François Ruffin (Stand up!)

Several measures demanded by the left were rejected in the finance committee, such as the Zucman tax.

Manuel Bompard believes that “the trap is closing for the PS”

The coordinator of La France insoumise, Manuel Bompard, reacted a few minutes after Sébastien Lecornu announced that the suspension of the pension reform would be included in the Social Security budget through a “corrective letter”.

A procedure to assure the socialists, whose censure the Prime Minister wants to avoid, that the suspension of the pension reform will be effective if the Government approves the budget by ordinance, without completing the examination of the texts within the deadlines provided for by the Constitution.

“The trap is closing for the PS,” considers Manuel Bompard. For the suspension of the pension reform to become effective, the rebel sees two solutions for the socialists.

Or the PS “will have to vote in favor of the Social Security budget with all the horrors it contains. Otherwise, the Government will impose its budget by ordinance. The PS will then have to reject the censorship and let the budgets pass in order to have the delay” of the pension reform, he lists.

LFI deputy Marianne Maximi denounces “a budget of social war”

LFI MP Marianne Maximi calls on the government to address the state and social security budget.

Several provisions could directly affect the French, from the freezing of social benefits to the increase in deductibles on first aid kits and the elimination of 4,000 teaching positions.

“It is a budget of social war,” laments rebel deputy Marianne Maximi.

Robbery at the Louvre: “the security devices are not defective” defends Rachida Dati

“The security devices are not defective,” Rachida Dati persists and signs, almost 48 hours after the robbery at the Louvre.

“Responsibilities will be assumed,” insisted the Minister of Culture, considering that “measures will have to be taken.”

An administrative investigation and a major police investigation are currently underway. The president of the museum, Laurence Des Cars, will appear tomorrow afternoon before the Senate Cultural Affairs Committee.

For Rachida Dati, “the Louvre’s security system worked”

After the spectacular robbery at the Louvre in which eight very valuable pieces disappeared, the Minister of Culture must justify herself.

Questioned by Horizons deputy Jérémie Patrier-Leitus, Rachida Dati believes that “the Louvre’s security system worked.”

Sébastien Lecornu announces “a corrective letter” to suspend the pension reform

The Prime Minister announces that he has presented “tonight” a letter of amendment to the Council of State to mention the suspension of the pension reform in the social security budget.

This technical procedure allows the Social Security budget to be modified if it had to be approved by order before the Council of Ministers.

At the moment, the social security budget, which must be included word for word in the orders, does not contain any mention of the suspension of the pension reform.

But this amending letter, which still must be approved by the Higher Council of Public Finances and the Council of Ministers, must reflect this modification.

A Council of Ministers this Thursday will allow this change to be endorsed.

Suspension of pension reform: Sébastien Lecornu promises that the debate will take place “no matter what”

Questioned by Marine Le Pen about the suspension of the pension reform and the fear that it will not prosper, Sébastien Lecornu is vague.

“The debate will take place no matter what happens,” defends the prime minister, avoiding giving more details.

Marine Le Pen worries about a “non-negligible probability” that the suspension of pensions will not be successful

Marine Le Pen asks the Prime Minister to specify the legislative vehicle he intends to follow to suspend the pension reform.

“There is a significant probability” that this suspension will never be carried out, annoys the president of the RN deputies.

“Mr Prime Minister, to demonstrate your good faith, will you submit a corrective letter?” which allows modifying the social security budget project in case of resorting to orders, asks the RN deputy again.

Rachida Dati is expected in the security of the Louvre

The Horizontes deputy, Jérémie Patrier-Leitus, will question the Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati, after the spectacular robbery of the Louvre.

This raid sparked a political controversy and reignited debate over the security of French museums, including the Louvre, which remained closed on Monday.

Rachida Dati announced an administrative investigation, in parallel to the judicial investigations, “to have real knowledge” of “what happened”, “to the nearest second.”

We remind you how the Louvre was robbed on Sunday in our article.

Marine Le Pen and Boris Vallaud question Sébastien Lecornu about the suspension of the pension reform

It is Marine Le Pen who opens the ball of questions about the precise modalities of the suspension of the pension reform. The president of the RN deputies will be followed by her socialist counterpart, Boris Vallaud, on the same issue.

The Prime Minister announced last week the suspension of the passage of 64 years and the increase in the number of trimesters.

While Sébastien Lecornu indicated last week that he intended to approve an amendment to the social security financing bill, Emmanuel Macron explained this morning that a “referendum” on the issue is not excluded.
