Communication by example? All the ministers appear masked this Tuesday in the chamber of the National Assembly, during the weekly session of questions to the government. If Elisabeth Borne – like the rest of the representatives of the Executive – took off her mask when speaking with the deputies, the Prime Minister would put it back on once she was sitting next to the members of her Government.
This return of the mask to the ministers in the Assembly coincides with the ninth wave of Covid-19, before which the Government refuses to implement, for the moment, coercive measures.
A recommendation, not an obligation
The executive, through the voice of several ministers, called for the responsibility of the French and recommended the use of masks in certain places, such as public transport, but caregivers and epidemiologists urged him to harden his position by making it mandatory again.
François Braun, who did not wear one on Sunday on the set of BFM Politique -because “we are not in a closed place on promiscuity”-, recalled on this occasion that he was not “in favor of coercion”. But if the numbers continue to rise and an obligation must be decided, “my arm does not tremble,” he assured.
