World Cup: Camera Macron and Sunak before France-England

On Twitter, the president challenged the British prime minister in a humorous tone on Saturday.

Three hours before the start of the France-England match, Emmanuel Macron sent a winking tweet to Rishi Sunak, the new British prime minister.

“Dear Rishi Sunak, I’m looking forward to tonight’s game. If Les Bleus win (and they will!), you’ll wish us luck in the semi-final… won’t you?”, writes the president this Saturday afternoon.

A short humorous message to which its recipient was quick to respond in the same tone: “I hope we don’t have to, but it’s a deal. I hope to see you behind the Three Lions in the next round.”

The two leaders met for the first time at the beginning of November, on the occasion of COP 27. The first time since the election of the British Conservative in October.
